Key Features:

A Premium, Fully-Mounted Bow with Ebony Frog:

The bow is naturally one of the most important parts of any bowed instrument setup, and the particular bow supplied with the Veracini Violin has been upgraded to a ‘Fully-Mounted’, high -quality Bulletwood model.
The term ‘Fully-Mounted’, refers to an upgraded and more intricate join between the ‘frog’ and the ‘stick’. There is a smooth metal plate between the frog and the bow stick, allowing a smooth fit and protection for the wood as it slides back and forth as the bow is tightened and loosened. So, not only will the Veracini’s included bow assist in producing a superb tone, it will perform its duties for a long time to come.

A Unique Antiqued Look:

Everyone loves an old, antique violin, viola or cello, and so using clever techniques developed over many years, the Hidersine Veracini is finished with various ‘antique’ markers. Each instrument is uniquely treated to replicate the appearance of a much-loved and often-played example, with pitting of the body and wear-marks evident across the body.

Seasoned Maple:

Hidersine Veracini instruments use seasoned maple for the bridges of each violin, viola or cello.

The use of ‘seasoned’ tonewoods in musical instrument manufacture is well known. When a tonewood, such as maple, has been seasoned, it infers that the timber has been stored in a controlled environment for a reasonable period. The exact time can vary, but instrument luthiers will pay a premium for wood that has seasoned for 5, 10, 20 or more years.
When wood is initially harvested, it has a high moisture content, which over time will dissipate. This lowering of moisture content is one of the most important parts of the seasoning process, and as the wood is formed into its new (bridge) shape, it brings with it a new natural state for the material. One in which the wood fibres settle into a more coherent whole and will transmit vibration and resonance more effectively. Therefore, the string vibrations are carried through the bridge to the sound-table more authentically, which will result in further improvement of the tone of your violin, viola or cello.

Ready to Play with everything you need:

Your new Hidersine instrument will have already been inspected and setup ‘ready to play’ in our UK service workshops. This means that you can buy with confidence, take your new instrument along to your lesson and be ready to go from the off. .
Your Hidersine Veracini violin or cello is supplied as an outfit, which is to say it is complete with what you need to get started. The Violin is supplied in an oblong, shockproof case with internal accessory compartments and an outer music pocket.
Most importantly, your Veracini outfit includes an upgraded, premium Fully-Mounted Bulletwood bow. Just tighten the hair, apply a little Hidersine rosin, and the bow is ready to play… as you will be too.

Looks and sounds more beautiful throughout its life:

Hidersine Veracini instruments feature a hand-carved solid spruce top – or sound-table. This is important because your instrument’s primary voice is formed by this sound-table, and therefore the top can resonate as a single, coherent structure and sound great as a result. Plus, as the wood ages and the solid tonewood top gradually relaxes at a cellular level into its natural rest state, it will resonate even more naturally, and the sound will improve further.
Hidersine Veracini Violins and Cellos not only have solid tops, but they also have beautiful solid, flamed Maple ribs and backs too. These highly figured, solid tonewood sections further enhance the instrument’s natural tone. The top produces the instrument’s primary voice, and the back and sides add the character.
(The term ‘Flamed’ refers to the figuring of the Maple grain, which looks like flames striking across the wood. Maple with a natural ‘flame’ is highly prized, with the most intricate and stunning natural grain patterns demanding very high prices throughout the world of musical instruments.)

Each instrument created by skilled hands:

The form of your Hidersine Veracini violin or Cello will be the result of genuine hand-carving techniques. Not only have the intricate curves of the top, back and ribs been carefully tooled, but the neck and the beautiful scroll (head) has been skilfully crafted.
Although most musical instruments have a fair amount of human input in their building process, unsurprisingly instruments created for the entry-level tend to have much higher levels of machine-made elements. While this makes the process efficient, it can take away from the individual ‘soul’ of each instrument. Each mark from the luthier’s carving tools are there for a specific reason. The amount of time taken to carve the arched tops and back of a violin is integral to their structure – lightness and strength - and the resulting tone. Luthiers have been passing their immense skill down the line for centuries, and in the case of Hidersine Veracini instruments, the skilled hand-carving techniques can be truly appreciated.

Ebony - Feels great, Lasts a lifetime:

Hidersine Veracini violins and cellos both benefit from a genuine Ebony fingerboard, pegs and chin rest. This prized hardwood has traditionally been used for hundreds of years due to its truly long-lasting properties. Unlike dark-stained or ‘ebonized’ softwoods often used on inferior instruments, genuine Ebony will not mark, pit or wear out under lengthy playing periods. This is essential in areas such as the pegs, which are under a lot of tension from the strings. The shaft of each peg needs to be retain its integrity, and using Ebony is one of the best ways to ensure this. Ebony should remain structurally sound for a very long time, and it will also feel smooth on the fingers and chin, helping make the playing experience more pleasant all round.

Product Reviews

"Very good value for money, all parts are in good quality. Very pleased!"

Gemma, United Kingdom

"It sounds great."

Miriam, United Kingdom

"I think it looks great ( and way more expensive than it actually is!) It feels great and sounds great to play! "

Keava, Ireland

"I think it's a fantastic violin for an intermediate-advanced student, although I was an absolute beginner when I purchased it, but preferred to go for a more advanced violin from the start. My teacher was really amazed at how nice it sounds and looks for its price and asked me about it, as Hidersine products are not really well-known in Spain. I decided to purchase a Hidersine violin after reading many good opinions about them in British Internet forums, store reviews, etc. I am really happy with it - and my teacher is too!"

Sue, Spain

"Absolutely love it!"

Melissa, Australia

"Has a nice sound"

"Lovely tone, beautiful colour. Just a pity that when we got home we discovered that the bow was not straight. However, Musicroom sent a replacement without quibble. We hope that we will not have any further problems. "

Karen, United Kingdom

"I am gradually getting to know it and am grateful to have an upgrade from my 40 year old battered violin from school days"

Rebecca, United Kingdom

"The violin itself is beautiful quality and sounds very rich, even for a squeaky beginner such as myself. The bow is a lovely weight and very well crafted. The case is very good and secure for the equipment. The outfit also came with Hidersine rosin which worked wonderful"

Emma, United Kingdom

"The Hidersine Veracini is a great violin with a quality sound. I think it will last me many years. Thank you so much :)"

Chloe, United Kingdom

Simon, United Kingdom

"Brillant"

Joe, United Kingdom

"it is very good"

Edwin, United Kingdom

"???"

Ibrahim, United Kingdom

"Playing it makes me feel inspired. The tone is warm and mellow, with a sense of 'cleanliness' and 'precision' particularly high up on the E string - the strings it's fitted with hold up and still sound great even when playing the highest notes in the range of the violin. It's hard to sound bad on this instrument - it's really, really special."

Daniel, United Kingdom

"Great excited to play and learn more Grade 3 students 4/4 size upgrade from Stenton. Big difference."

Agnieszka, United Kingdom

"I absolutely adore it! So well made and sounds beautiful"

Jasmine, United Kingdom

"Lovely"

Natasha, United Kingdom

"really beautiful! has a lovely mellow sound with nice depth, made and set up really well (although the bridge was a bit wonky), came out of the box pretty much almost tuned!"

Sarah, United Kingdom

"Sounds amazing, it didnt come with any guidance for tuning or any guidance that the pegs will be loose, this info would have been nice."

Daniel, United Kingdom

"Very happy so far!! Look, feel and sound are good and make me feel excited to practice"

Deb, United Kingdom

"Compared to the violin I'd been playing on for years, the Hidersine feels more alive. The sound resonates within the body a lot more. Curiously enough, when I was in the store trying out several other brands like Hofner etc, this Hidersine was the only one that actually 'teased' me. I found myself prancing about with the melody. None of the other violins made me do that. That's when i figured it'd better be this one."

Theresa, United Kingdom

"This is my first violin, coming from a guitar, it is quite peculiar how similar and dissimilar these instruments are. The Violin I've noticed is very light and petite in comparison to my guitars, and feels very delicate - unfortunately I'm not sure if that is normal or a sign of a poorly made Violin. I'm impressed with the Maple back. The bow and case feel adequately robust. Overall happy with purchase, although as I progress my skill and understanding of the violin, I may find a different conclusion."

William, United Kingdom

"My son is doing his stage four ABRSM and is extremely please with this violin, the sound and playing are a vast improvement on what he had."

Graham, United Kingdom

"Nice tone so far. "

Roderick, United Kingdom

"Lovely tone Beautifully made"

Claire, United Kingdom

"He has a really good sound. It's my first one and i'm so happy to learn with it. My teacher is really happy to see the quality."

Mlanie, Switzerland

"Very Deep, round, smooth tone. "

Vincent, Bahrain

"Lovely tone and easy action and, at the price, a very good package."

Robert, United Kingdom

"Just received it, but looks and sounds very nice."

William, United Kingdom

"It has a lovely tone! I was disappointed with the unbranded violin case, though. It looks much cheaper and flimsier than the sturdy Hidersine case that came with my son's previous Hidersine violin, which was a 3/4 size Piacenza."

Alison, United Kingdom

"Beautiful sound with reasonable price"

Isaac, United Kingdom

"Having read many good things about the Veracini, I was able to source a used one locally. It's barely used, in an immaculate condition, beautiful, easy to play and has a lovely sound. I only wish the maple back was as flamed as you can see on photos, but this is hardly important."

Arash, United Kingdom

"Very good, lovely sounds"

Fiona, United Kingdom

"Lovely sounding instrument. Purchased as an upgrade from my Stentor Student II violin."

Jill, United Kingdom

"Very nice looking and sounding instrument "

Tristan, United Kingdom

"This is my first violin so, whilst it has been delivered in good order and is complete, I cannot comment on its performance."

Richard, United Kingdom

"It makes a warm, clear sound. Very nice instrument!"

Colette, Ireland

"Pleased "

Jane, United Kingdom

"Lightweight and beautifully crafted with a sweet sound"

Jazzy, United Kingdom

"It's comfortable to play"

Devesh, India

"Beautiful ? "

James, United Kingdom

"Very nice instrument with a good sound"

Hiba, France, Metropolitan

"Love it so far! "

Ian, United Kingdom

"I am delighted. "

Robert, United Kingdom

"very nice sound"

Chris, United Kingdom

"Beautiful, resonant, well made. I love that it is a great quality at a reasonable price. There are some minor aesthetic quality issues such as varnish issues at the edges of the f holes but for the price I cannot complain. Thank you for making beautiful violins that are affordable."

Rosa, United Kingdom

"Responsive and beautiful tone."

Angela, United Kingdom

"Lovely "

Roy, United Kingdom

"No real experience playing but was the recommended purchase by the shop for an adult beginner looking for something that is higher quality than the most basic student entry."

Curtis, United Kingdom

"At first I was disappointed with the tone an almost sent the instrument back, to Manns Music, but after closer inspection I noticed the bridge was badly fitted, so I unstrung the violin shaped the feet of the bridge to suit the belly, restrung it with my favourite strings and voila! The tone was greatly improved. I must say, for the money it is a nice sounding violin and is second in my collection. Id definitely buy another Hidersine."

Peter, United Kingdom

"This violing is for my son, who hasn't had a chance to play it yet. Violin looks great and arrived well packaged, however the bridge had shifted around and one of the strings was out of place."
